Three months in
The first sun in three months. Can't wait for spring.
In November 2025, shortly after my birthday, mild eating difficulties prompted testing that confirmed an aggressive tumour. No quick fix. Chemotherapy in three-week cycles.
The first emotional responses were fear and stress — alongside unexpected gratitude. Walking through forests felt intensely meaningful. The value of ordinary things became suddenly, embarrassingly clear.
Gratitude
I found myself grateful for unconditional support from loved ones, for my childhood, for career growth, for the chance to have travelled. None of it was guaranteed. All of it happened.
A philosophy that found me
It doesn't happen to you, it happens for you. The preceding three months involved significant lifestyle changes — improved diet, sleep, trauma processing, and daily routine restructuring, including personal health research and self-experiments.
Why this newsletter exists
Two purposes: maintaining connection with distant loved ones, and potentially helping readers reconsider their own life priorities before a reason forces them to.
The first sun appeared after three months of grey. Spring is coming. That felt worth writing about.
