LDL Cholesterol
More nuanced than the headline number suggests.
What it is
LDL (low-density lipoprotein) carries cholesterol through the bloodstream. Historically just called "bad cholesterol," but particle size and oxidation status matter as much as raw LDL levels.
Why it matters
Cardiovascular health matters even in an oncology context — treatment side effects can stress the heart, and a high-functioning cardiovascular system supports everything from energy to recovery. Monitoring LDL alongside HDL and triglycerides gives a fuller picture.
How to test
Full lipid panel blood test. Fast for 9–12 hours beforehand.
